I would like to add a (critical listening level) pair of in-wall speakers to my system. The system is not really high end but it is all I can afford at this time. I have a 125 watt Yamaha integrated amp and 6 pairs of in-wall/ceiling speakers and a sub woofer on the first floor. I have 5 pairs of Klipsch speakers that do what I expected them to do but I have one room where I installed a pair of Polk speakers that seem to lack depth and base. I would like to replace this pair with something a little higher end ($1,500.00 max) and use this as a dedicated listening room.
obsolete, noisey, variable...SS after all this is the 21st century ain't it? Does your Emerson radio sound better than Sirius? Or SACD? http://www.upgradecompany.com/upgrade.php
I'm looking to buy some floor standing speakers online. I've always liked kef and was considering some used 104's (previous post), but I'm now begining to get a little more familliar with the newer products. I've spotted some IQ5's online for about $550 for a new pair and IQ9's for about $850. Since there online, I'm not going to be able to listen to them to compair, so anyone out there have experience with these speakers? I can afford the IQ5 without to much pain, or I could get the IQ9's but it would mean a bit more of a financial stretch.
They say that being an audiophile is a lonely pursuit, but some 'philes like to make their adjustments with as many ears as possible. When you are dialing in your system, do you get your buddies to help?
Just keeps getting better and better, don't it? But there are some who think it takes $100,000 to spin a platter? Why is this stuff invented for well under $2K, DSD/SACD, it is the 21st century, things do improve.
