In RR's review of the Infinity Primus P162 he states his set up for home theater includes only two front speakers. He sites several reasons for choosing this set up including this, "Second, I don't see the need for a center channel speaker, provided the main L/R speakers have broad horizontal dispersion. Finally, I don't find that bass needs to be "managed" by a separate low-frequency channel.

In Art Dudley's March review, he gave the Linn Majik CD player an A+ rating, comparing it to the Unidisk SC (A rating). I noted in the equipment guide that the SC is still rated "A", but that the Majik player has been "demoted" to a "B" rating. I'm curious why the change in thought. Any ideas?

Can anyone provide any advice as to the proper ORDER in which to begin purchasing a stereo system? I assume you either start at the front end with the CD Player/DAC-Transport, or at the back end, with the speakers. Then you would progress toward the other end of the system, depending on where you started. I own Robert Hartley's book on High End equipment, and he does not touch on this subject, at least that I could find. Any information provided would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. JW
