Hola,
After reading Art plotz for the Audio Notes speakers, and everyone else swooning for the Harbeth line, it made me wonder about a topic that doesn't seem to come when discussing those speaker lines...diffraction.
Some manufacturers seem to design speakers trying to minimize this phenomenon, others like Audio Note and Harbeth don't seem to 'care.'
I was wondering if Stereophile will be reviewing any of the Rockport speakers in the near future. There's a lot of noise about these speakers on other forums, especially when they get compared against Wilson Audio. A lot of folks are of the opinion that W.A. represents the current state of the art for speaker design, so I think it would be extremely interesting and informative, to compare the Watt Puppy 8 against the Rockport Altair, for example.
I hope Kal or JA are available to comment on this to let us know if this review is feasible.
Have you guys seen this Saskia TT? I don't know how the designer worked the ol' idler technology, but it sure looks booty-ful. 200 lbs. It seems that he makes slate plinths for Garrards, and obviously, a lot of slate used for this TT, too. Wait, I just checked his site & he uses slate for virtually everything!
