With all the talk of hi-rez downloads and playback from hard disk, I beg this question: why hasn't anyone ripped DVD-A to hard disk and compared that to CD signals driven from the same server ?

True, DVD-A was encrypted...but this was overcome years ago. Why did we wait for HD Tracks to hear disk-driven hi-rez music ?

First, let me say how much I appreciate the time and patience everyone has exhibited in answering questions in this forum. I am sure at times it gets rather tedious and repetitious but rest assured it is appreciated!
My question:

Is there anything I can do to replace an old Bose surround system that hums but drives 1.2 ohm speakers throughout the home. Bose is telling me I need to scrap the amps because they don't support them any longer, need to scrap the speakers and all of the in wall wiring. Are there any systems out there that will drive 1.2 ohm speakers?
