I have 2 mono amps, should I place the amps near each speaker, in favor to shorter speaker cables, or near the pre-amp, in favor to the shorter component cable???

What I mean is...please move the hardware and software sections to the top and the general discussion section to the bottom (way bottom.) I fear that anyone checking in to the forums for the first time may go to Rants and Raves first since it is at the top and be frightened away forever. I can't believe what has become of that forum with the language and taunts/insults. Can the forum order be changed to better reflect what most of us are really here for?

Hi Guys. Noob here looking for some advice. I'm not sure that I am in the right place as I the first thing I see on the "entry level" page is a guy with a budget of 15k for a stereo system. But, maybe you guys can point me in the right direction. I have a pair of Pioneer CS-A700s right now mated up to a Technics SA-303. I am looking for a receiver that will make better use of the speakers. I am looking mainly on CL, in the $200-300 range. I am also looking for a second set of speakers that will go well with the whole package.
