I highly recommend the Roky Erickson/Okkervil River album. Haven't listened to the Hold Steady or BSS albums yet.
Nice work by Art Dudley on the Advent restoration this month. It seems that I am probably the world's expert on them. This happened by accident when I restored my parent's old speakers and got a bit carried away when I went to document the Large Advent. There were more variations than I thought and I therefore wanted to know about all the differences:

The May Stereophile features reviews of horn speakers from JBL and Klipsch. What do you think of horn loudspeakers? Do you own them, have you tried them?
I have a Marantz SR 7002 and a Marantz DV4001 and huge HDMI problems. I will give a little history first. I purchased a Marantz SR7001 3 years ago and after protection circuit repairs failed it was replaced with the 7002 18 months ago.
This Christmas we bought a Bell PVR and a Western Digital HD Media player and I decided that I would hook everything up with HDMI and get rid of the rat nest.
Go buy some vinyl!
The Flaming Lips' "Embryonic"...their updated version of Dark Side of the Moon had been released on vinyl today.
So get your old jeans on, dig out your threadbare Procol Harum t-shirt, and head down to that last remaining record store near you and give them some business!...I'm off to Zia today.

Hello Everyone,
This past weekend I had the pleasure of seeing Mark Tolstrup and Paul Geremia along with Taz Cru at the Caffe Lena in Saratoga NY. Not only was it a chance to visit a very historic venue, but it reacquainted me with something that has too long been missing from my HI-FI experience. Experiencing a live performance. I think sometimes we get so caught up in the equipment and the media we use, we forget the most important thing, the music.
