For years I have greeted the arrival of the current Stereophile by reading the letters. Far and away, Karim Fidel's is the best I've ever read. Since it appears in the issue where the year's outstanding products are listed, I propose it be awarded some sort of prize or other recognition. Great stuff, great comedy style, great final sentence.

On November 16, while listening to the radio, I was mesmerized by Howard Dully's audio coverage of what he found out about his own lobotomy at the age of 12 by Dr. Walter Freeman. This is powerful stuff—and I'm in awe of how even-handed Dully is in his reporting.
