Hello all -
I would love to buy a vintage b&o amp to use with existing kit (simple set, a pair of b&w xts2 and a Kiss dp-600: far from audiophile but suits a small house and my simple tastes)
I am currently using an old Arcam but find that a b&o style (like a 1900 or a 5500, both of which I see on eBay rather cheap)
SO; - how do i connect to the B7O unit, since all that i've ever seen have funky little connectors, din and all that - i need simply l&r speaker outputs and a single l&r stereo input - can this be done, do i need custom cables?
You may need a dictionary and some textbooks to understand some of the terminology but at least after studying these articles I can now look at the graphs and maybe see what the reviewer is referring to. Nevertheless, I would still be stretching it by getting myself in a conversation over them. I've only read them a couple of times.
Anybody try the affordable silver IC's from White Zombie who can offer some impressions? I've ordered a couple of the El Chupacabra to try out in my system. I'll post some thoughts after I've installed them and they've had a chance to break in a bit.
OK Jazzfan, here's a contemporary one for ya, and I believe he and accompaning cast are all alive!
No, it's not a new one, just his best from 1998. Opens with a little reggae, has a couple of vocal tunes, one being Randy Newmans "Baltimore" sung by artists you've probably never heard of. They do fall a little to the God forbid smooth jazz side but you will get over it, they're well done. Also killer versions of Sonny Rollins "Street Runner" and "Alfie's Theme" featuring Ronnie Foster on Hammond.

What's up with that? Come on people, let's get with it. Enough with all the posts about equipment, both real and imagined. How about discussions about the meat of matter, the heart beat of this whole stinking hobby - music, for crying out loud!
I counted five pages (p19-22 by Sony Entertainment, p25 by Sony Pictures) of Blu Ray ads in the July issue. What are the implications for high end audio? Any predictions?
