1) I'm guessing that red goes to red, and blue goes to white?

The terminals on equipment typically have different colors to provide a visual indicator differentiation between the Right & Left channels. The colors on cables are also different for the same reason. It is for convince only. The answer to your question is - it does not matter.

 2) There's an arrow pointing on the cables, too. Can you kindly tell me in simplest terms, which direction that arrow should point toward or away from?

The arrow represents the direction the signal is traveling. It should point away from the source. So you want the arrow pointing away from your pre-amp, toward your power amp, and away from your pre-amp & toward your DAC. The reason has to do with which end the internal shielding on the cable is terminated on.

 3) Does order of connecting matter, red first, white first?

No.

Be sure to power OFF your entire system anytime you are disconnecting ANY cables

My comment:  Yes, red to red, blue to white.  And: sort of correct, "it does not matter", AS LONG AS you keep the signal IN PHASE by connecting things completely consistently.  So, you could violate the "red to red..." guidance ONLY IF you make sure that you violate it consistently and symetrically.  But the color coding serves a valuable purpose, since it helps us be accurate and consistent with connections, without having to memorize and later recall our "violations" of the connection pattern.

I find it is simplest to always use RED for RIGHT channels (Channel B), and blue (or some other color, when supplied), as the LEFT channel (Channel A)

If you have any communist or socialist leanings, it is also doubly easy to remember RED IS RIGHT!  smiley
