I think the 4 ohm power rating is more relevant, and quite adequate. The speakers in question have their lowest impedance, which is closer to 4 ohms than 8 ohms, at the lower frequencies (40 to 400 Hz) where higher power is needed. The "nominal" impedance of 8 ohms is somewhat misleading.
The sensitivity spec on those speakers is also 90 db/watt, which means they really don't need all that much power. That means that 10 watts will produce a 100 dbA sound level, which is a VERY loud output, and 20 watts will produce 103 dbA, and 40 watts will produce 106 dbA, etc. etc.
The bottom line is that your amplifier is definitely powerful enough for those speakers.
Thanks so much for the advice. I have ordered both the Monitor Audio Bronze 6 and PSB Imagine X2T's for an audition. I have owned a pair of Meadowlark Audio Kestrels Hot Rods for 17 years - which have been great. Have become curious is in this era of HD files if I'm hearing all the YBA amp can do. And hence the exploration. I hope the Monitor Audio Bronze 6's aren't too bright. Not many reviews for them online.
You said previously that the PSB Imagine X2T were "huge by comparison" to the Bronze 6.
I see that the X2T are 9 inches wide, and the Bronze 6 are 8 inches wide.
Also the X2T are 40" tall and the Bronze 6 are 38" tall.
Those seem like pretty similar dimensions.
It does not seem that one is huge compared to the other.
Maybe huge isn't the exact word. But, the PSB's are about 6" deeper, which makes their overall mass about 50% larger...
