Wierd Issue

First I read Art Dudley interviewing alchemists and then Stephen Mejias arrives at a cliffhanger...Nothing about how the vinyl flattener thingee did nor any happy ending for the deserving Christine not to mention nothing on what the Wilderness Road disc actually sounded lke...does part II follow?

I am almost afraid to turn to the next page...Perhaps another $200K budget item for the discerning Monarch...or perhaps a learned bit on how wearing a Reynolds Wrap helmet when within 5 feet of the speakers clarifies the sound and makes popcorn taste better.

Good writing but a very wierd issue...Even the generally sane Sam wanders to the edge of darkness in his first 500 or so words before he gets to anything audio...then follows with a very good review and me wondering if those KT120's will work in my PrimaLuna Dialogue II, and at what the rascals cost.

Perhaps someone is spiking the water in the greater NYC area...

re: weird

Yes, I guess it is a pretty weird issue.  I love the overlapping themes in the columns -- purely coincidental, by the way.  Next month is even better... or weirder!

You'll notice that my April issue column is titled "Necessities and Accessories, Part 1."  In the May issue, I'll provide Part 2, which will complete the story and should answer any questions.

Tune in next month...

Appreciate it. You write well

Appreciate it. You write well and tell a good story in a way that does not have me laughing at the writer...

MBL Speakers

I wish there was one picture of the MBL speakers so you could tell what they look like, and how big they are. To much artsy fartsy camera work.

re: mbl speakers

That's a good point, but there is a clear picture of the speaker on the cover of the magazine, and the speaker's dimensions are listed in the Specifications sidebar on the first page of the review.

MBL size

If you want to get an idea of the size of the MBLs, in a living-room-like setting, have a look at
