The Vincent SP331 amplifier is very good, and quite a bargain at $1395. It was awarded Amplifier of the Year by The Absolute Sound a few years ago, and still ranks right up there if you don't have several thousand dollars to spend.
It uses tubes in the signal amplifier stage and solid-state for the rest, which is the best of both worlds from my experience.
Given the vintage and condition of your old amplifier, I think you will find it to be a significant sonic improvement. If you buy it from Audio Advisor, you get 30 days to decide if you want to keep it, in any case.
It also has 4 times the power of your old amp, and probably will improve the dynamics of your music considerably (unless you have some unusually sensitive speakers).
