I know a banana clip is a little attachment for plugging speakers into components, but what is it exactly? And if I buy speaker wire and a set of banana clips, how do I get the bare speaker wire to stay anchored in the banana clip?

A Banana PLUG is commonly used on the end of speaker wires to enable them to be plugged into either Banana JACKS or binding posts.

They are called banana PLUGS because the springy metal leaves that provide the tension to keep them in place somewhat resemble the shape of a banana.

There is no such thing as a banana clip.

For a good photo of a Banana Plug, go to the Monoprice website and select product number 2943.

This type of banana plug has a set screw that tightens on the bare wire to secure it in place.

There is no such thing as a BANANA CLIP!!!!!
