All:
I have a chance to buy a pair of Magnepan MMG's made in 2004 for $350.
I actually have been planning on buying the Super MMG's, but at this price, I may just get these.
Do they break down over time? Anything I need to be weary or cautious of with well used Maggies?
I would LOVE to get them...just don't want to get burned or a nasty surprise.
I also know these things (even modest MMG's) may need a TON of power from my amp.
My Creek Evolution 50A. Its power specs are:
55 Watts into 8 Ohms
85 Watts into 4 Ohms
155 Watt temporary headroom into 4 Ohms..
But I am afraid this integrated won't be enough power.... So I have two questions actually:
1. anything to watch out for with used MMG's? These are from 2004.
2. how many watts solid state amp do I really need?
I find the Magenpan website of absolute no help in power recommendations. So any help is greatly appreciated. Anyone drive these MMG's with an amp/integrated similar to mine?
Respectfully,
Ron
