I recommend that you get the Musical Fidelity M2si integrated amplifier, which Audio Advisor sells for $999.

It is a superb amplfier, with exceptionally nice sound quality and tons of power (over 130 watts per channel at 4 ohms).

IMO there is nothing on the market that even comes close to it for that price; an exceptional value for an excellent amp.

The sonic improvement over your current amp will be amazing.

By the way, your Sansui is rated to ONLY operate with speakers with an impedance of 8 ohms or more, which is a problem with most speakers. Your speakers are definitely 4 ohm speakers, so it is no wonder that your are having problems; distortion and overload for sure.

Hi,
I am the happy owner of a Sansui AU-719, but lately I have been craving for a higher-end amplifier.

In particular, I d'like more detail and cleanliness (the mid range sometimes sounds tiring to my ears) and the ability to drive 4 Ohm loudspeakers (ADS 1230) at higher volume without too much distortion or losing control of the woofers.

My budget is around 1000$, anyone has a suggestion for any good used integrated?

BTW. The sound chain at the moment is: Metrum Acoustics Octave DAC, Schiit LYR 2 pre-amp, Sansui AU-719 amp, ADS-1230 speakers
