Hola,
There's a thread on another section here about Ambience Loudspeakers, and it struck me as a tough choice for a name.
If I were out shopping and a salesman asked if I was interested in some Ambience speakers, my first response would be, "No, I'm not into home theater. I'd like some for actually listening to."

Berning always struck me as tough, too. How would most people reply when asked if they were interested in a Berning amp?
I'd ask for one that wasn't Berning.

Same with Quad. Wouldn't most guys my age say, "No, thanks, I'd prefer to listen to some stereo speakers."

Wavac is OK, but I always expect to hear the voice of Mr. Peabody telling me how to set the Wavac Machine.

Air Tight sounds a little claustrophobic.

(On the plus side, who wouldn't want a nice Manley amp or preamp? But there are many good names, so I'll get back to the not as good names...)

Naim strikes me as an Abbott and Costello thing:
"Excuse, which amp are we listening to?"
"The Naim."
"Yes, I'd like to know the name."
"That would be the Naim."
"It certainly would. So when you tell someone which amp they are listening to, you would say...?"
"I'd say the Naim."
"You'd call it by name."
"Yes, I would."
"And what name would that be?
"The Naim we're listeining to now."
"So, you'd say the name."
"Yes, I would say the Naim."
Etc...

Another one that gives me cartoon images is NAD.
I can see Beavis and Butthead shopping for gear with all that royalty and syndication money being told they were listening to a NAD, and they laugh and say, "Heh heh, heh heh heh, he said NAD."

Piega, Reynaud, and Bohlender-Graebener sound a little bit like medical syndromes.

I think Tannoy needs a spokesmodel named Jane.

OK, that's enough outta me.
Your turn.
