Tried to post this earlier but don't see it on here...sorry if I'm double posting.
I live in China for the moment and am choosing between buying a solid state amp (likely a Dussun V8i) or a tube amp (Cayin, Jolida, Shengya?). I've auditioned a few and like several models.
Any advice for which way to lean? I listen to all types of music, jazz, classical, and some bass heavy styles like acid jazz/electronic, and even hip hop.
A local salesman advised that unless listening predominantly to jazz I should stick to a ss amp. I'm not sure, and have heard that Chinese tube amps are a great bargain.
I'm going to be running Aurum Cantus Music Goddess II speakers.
