Hello, longtime lurker, first time poster.
I finally moved into a house where I can begin my dream of having a great audio setup. Now it is time to build. I have read reviews and listened to as many speakers as I could that are available to me and I have some questions.
I am looking to budget around $16-18K for a complete setup. I am starting from scratch, I have no components.
I listened to Venere 2.5 and the Venere 3.0 which which I found to have a nice sound but then I listened to Whitney Houston on the Sonus Olympica III and those ruined everything. They were absolutely amazing. Unfortunately, the price is not amazing and out of my budget. So far, the 2.5 and 3.0's are on my radar but I think there may be better speakers and I don't want to wish later that I would have spent a little more to get better sound.
I live in Houston, TX and found some places that carry these but before I spend the time and gas (it is a very long drive) I wanted to get opinions on the following:
Based upon what I have read the F208 and Focal Aria beat out both the Venere 2.5 and 3.0.
Venere 2.5 or 3.0
Revel f208
Focal Aria 936
PSB Imagine T2
Vienna Acoustics Beethoven
Also, a concern is that the 4 ohm Vienna Acoustics is going to be more expensive component-wise due to needing more powerful amplification capable of handling increased current.
So it may come down to F208 vs Aria 936 but I welcome any feedback/comments/critiques...
