Just got the "40th anniversary" reissue of Strange Days, by the Doors - to replace my old cassette of it which destroyed itself a few years ago.
Back in the day I played it obsessively. On a monoaural cassette recorder/player by Craig. Now I'm playing a nicely remastered CD on a decent stereo system. I dig it, but I can't say I'm getting signicantly more musical information and value than I did in '68 or '70 or whatever. I think I listened so much and so hard then that I got all the music out of it then, despite technical limitations. Huh, how bout that. Given my druthers I'll listen to it today's way but....
