Could the steel platter on a TT create hum or noise (or other)issues, possibly associated with a MM cartridge?
I notice that most TT feature aluminum or other nonmagnetic platters, but the Pro-ject Debut III comes with a steel platter.
I am considering the Debut III because it will accomodate my 78 collection as well as my LP's, but I don't want to buy into trouble.
I ran across this issue as I searched the web for info on the Debut III.
Here is the URL to the post that caught my eye.

Any direction would be appreciated. I am enamored with the Debut III at the price- Thanks for your comments.
