Took the wife and kids to the Moab Folk Festival and saw David Olney.
He started the show singing into a small "Wurlitzer Organ Speaker" that was wired into some sort of WWII looking metal amp device.
The speakers were BMS compression drivers mounted into DDS horns.
The speaker amps were made by a guy who lives in Salt Lake City and provided sound for the show.
Room was a "hall" that sat around 300.
The sound was jaw droppingly "alive" in that way that doesn't sound amplified...but it is. My wife was also knocked out. Lots of detail, "air," and that certain je ne sais qua that makes you forget that there are "electronics" going on.
So, what is my reference for Hi Fi?
