I have a MacMini downstairs and would like a simple system for my bedroom. I don't want to go all out on the bedroom system because it's a) the bedroom and b) not laid out in a way to position something truly high-end.
Please let me know of my understanding of the options is correct and if you've tried any of the products in question.
1. The simplest solution would be iDevice to AudioEngine A2's headphone jack and call it a day.
2. Get a self-powered Airplay device. I'd like something that can stream iTunes from the MacMini, supports Spotify (either locally or off the MacMini) and allows me to control it with my iPhone. Ideally we can also connect it digitally to any iPhone/iPad, etc, either by Airplay or directly. The list of choices seems endless:
* NAD's Viso 1 AP
* B&W's A5
* KEF's x300A
* Monitor Audio's ASB 2 (HDMI input)
* or B&O Beolit 12 or A8.
Let me know if you've tried any, can confirm my understanding and have a view on the best product. And has anyone tried AudioEngine's proprietary wireless DAC?
Thank you
Scott
