Hi guys,

It may be that this question was asked before and I'm sorry if I'm repeating it. I play out in my spare time, as a hobby. Actually what started out as a hobby has become a bit more serious lately. I play both digital and vinyl. Some of my records have started showing signs of usage. I've tried ripping my vinyls but no luck in getting it right. The rips either lacked punch or were just not playable in a club like environment. I play minimal house music so punch is important. But not only. Percussion and synths are equally important.

I've tried using the following setup:
- Ortofon Nightclub MK2/Shure MX97XE stylus
- Pioneer PLX 500 (phono)
- Xone 92 (for phono preamp)
- RME Fireface UFX (sound card)

This is most likely far from ideal but it's what I came up with by putting together pieces that I use in my studio for other things. I'd like to invest up to $2000 in a setup dedicated for ripping vinyls at the best quality possible for those money. The objective is to play them out in a club like environment, and they should sound good! Especially when mixed with digital music (wav).

I was looking at Ortofon 2M Bronze/Black, because I think the stylus is the main problem. But honestly I'm not sure if that would be sufficient.
What would a good setup be for doing what I want?
