I am not an audiophile but need advice on how to setup a whole house audio system.
we have all the walls open and doing electrical work and want to us ethe opportunity to run the wires for speakers and network and decide how to bring it all together...

basement , main floor, attic, outside, all will get speakers

will be drawing 12/2 wire from each room or zone
kitchen
Livingroom/dinningroom
attic
cellar
outdoor
Bed room 1
Bed room 2
Bed room 3
Bed room 4

Perhaps btharooms?

drawing the wires all to my utility room where my network stuff will be

questions

1) 12/2 wire is good enough? I could not find shielded 12 gauge wires and read some notes that they really dont need to be shielded

2) I would like to have online access to control each zone from a central location and possibly an intercome option
or perhaps play a music file from your phone by connecting to the network
stuff like that

I am hoping not to spend too much...

Would appreciate any guidance
