I've been Dynaudio Contour 1.3 MKII speakers and a Luxman L-430 integrated amp. Anyway, I have decided to retire the amp and am looking for a good replacement.
Originally i was looking at a DIY KT-88 based PP amp, but I just don't think it will drive these speakers well enough - especially at the bottom end. I also read on a furum somewhere that Dynaudio themselves recommend and use solid state for their in factory tuning and development.
Next I was considering NuForce reference 9 monoblocks as the power handling would be more than adequate, but with such neutral transparent speakers such as the Dyn's, I thought a bit warmer sounding amp might match better. (I know, can't get much more opposite ends to this spectrum that those two choices - evidence to my confused state...)
This system does not do double duty for home theater or anything else, and I want to trend to the minimalistic.
The transport is a Squeezebox (Slimdevices)which has a good DAC in it and I also use it as the preamp, although I am also hoping to upgrade to the Transporter also by Slim Designs.
The main question though is for recommendations on a good matching amp to the Dynaudio speakers.
Thanks
