it is for MM carts only, not MC.
I have phono amps that cost many, many orders of magnitude more, (my prized one, a tubed no compromise piece that was hand built to my exact specifications )and I can say without any shred of doubt that this gives very little up to them(a bit more fizz up top, a teence smaller soundstage, "what you see is what you get, no even order harmonics..."
anyway...I snagged 3 of them (one for me to play with when I go on vacations, and two more to give as gifts to introduce people to vinyl.
