I am interested in getting rid of my Sonos music system - the main problem is that it crashes constantly, but I also don't like the file restrictions, limits on number of tracks, etc. Mostly I just have Sonos Connects controlling amps and speakers that I already had (in three rooms, in two I just have the Sonos speakers). I see in Stereophile and Audio Stream that you can set up a much more versatile and probably better sounding streaming system than Sonos, but I have no idea how to go about doing this. What type of equipment is needed to stream your files from your computer to existing speakers/amps and how do you set this up? Any help/recommendations would be greatly appreciated, either direct advice, or pointing me toward resources that explain how to set up such a system. Thanks!
