My roommates blew out my B&W DM 302s. Quote the guilty: "We had a party last night and the speakers started to smell and then stopped working." Great. They've agreed to kick me $250, which was the retail price back in '98 when they first came out (I picked them up for $50 from a friend of the family). These were great speakers and I'm sad to see them go, but this unfortunate episode does give me a chance to upgrade (I'm moving to my own place in June so I won't have to worry about my equipment being trashed). I've got a budget of about $400-500. Any suggestions for a great pair of bookshelf speakers in this price range?
