If you know the Allison CD6 and the sound quality, I'd appreciate any tips on a similar sounding replacement. I'm drawn towards the Monitor Audio RS1, but I wonder about the low end.
Not looking to add a subwoofer (no room). Not looking to spend over $1K.
The only reason I'm considering replacing them is the woofer "foam" (I don't think they actually used foam back then) has a small rip in it on one speaker. Oddly, I can't hear the difference. Shouldn't I be able to? Anyhow, they're dusty and old, and I can't help but think speaker technology has improved and maybe something out there sounds better for not too much money.
