Good day all.

I'm nearing the end of building my first system, and I have a decision to make on a new turntable. The two likely candidates are the new Rega RP3 (or maybe a clearout p3-24) with power supply and the Clearaudio Concept. My problem is that I won't get to listen to each with the same equipment, and I'm not sure which differences will be from the turntables, and which from the rest of the gear. For the sake of argument, lets assume I'll buy the winning turntable with the cartridge installed.

Here is my setup. Musical Fidelity A5 integrated (using the phono stage included), PSB Image t6 speakers, Cambridge Audio DacMagic. I'm currently using my roommates Rega p2. Love it, but I want to know what is out there that is better. I can bring in my amp to both of the stores, but realistically, I won't be bringing in both my amp AND my speakers.

The store with the Rega also supplies PSB, so I can listen to a good approximation of what everything will sound like there. The most similar speakers at the other store would likely be a set of Paradigm towers.

So here's my question, what differences should I be paying attention to between the two turntables, and what will be caused by the speaker change? In terms of music, I listen largely to rock, electronic, and folk. Let's say LCD Soundsystem, Radiohead, and The Decemberists for examples. Ill be listening with the same records at both stores. I'm far more concerned about emotional involvement in music than I am in total neutrality. I want to feel the groove.

Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks everyone!
