I am brand new to sound systems so I know next to nothing. I was just given a Rega Planar 2 turn table and upon hooking it up and placing a record on it, I found that sound only comes out of the right channel (Red audio cable). There is no sound coming out of the left channel (white audio cable).
I took off the Ortofon OM 5e cartridge and reseated all four wires - red, white, blue, and green, and still no sound out of that white cable.
Any ideas of where to look next? Is the problem somewhere in the Ortofon cartridge or is it likely that there is a broken wire somewhere inside the arm?
Any words of advice and wisdom would be greatly appreciated.
