I went to an audio store today and looked at Rega turntables. They had Rega, Kuzma, and Linn tables. I spent some time speaking with a consultant about my listening preferences, my current equipment, the room where I'll be setting up my system, my component-at-a-time upgrade approach that is dictated by budget considerations, and my end-state objectives.
It was near closing time when I arrived there, so I didn't ask to listen to anything today. I arranged to go back on Wednesday to listen, and they will have a P5 set up with a Mira integrated amp and some R5 speakers. They have a P1, P2, and P3-24 I can listen to as well, but it is the P5 I am most interested in. That or the P3 is what I think I will end up with.
My plans right now are limited to buying a turntable, but I intend to upgrade other parts of my system as I can afford to, so I look forward to hearing a setup similar in quality to what I am ultimately aiming for.
I'm looking forward to this coming Wednesday.
