USB is only as quiet as the source, and computers are electrically noisy. I went from USB to Toslink and the improvement was immediate and unquestionable.

The analog out on your Mac is also a Toslink (fiber optic) out. Most Toslink cables come with an adapter. Use that and hook it up to the Toslink input on your Peachtree.
