Can you give us a bit more , synergy is everything , almost . I heard some Paradigm Atoms in a show room that made me stop and chuckle , it's hard to believe how good something this small and inexpensive can sound .
XLR ,,, the more you can give us the better . Type of amplifier , type of source , size of room , type of music , maximum volume level , normal volume levels , what type of sound preferred ( balanced , soft , warm , detailed , bass heavy , accurate ) will the speakers be used for movies , can the speakers be placed symmetrically , is the price for new or used , will the price include stands , shoe size . Regards Tim .
Right now I am using a Yamaha HTR-5840 Receiver, my main source is a PC via digital coaxial 96/24, will be used for music and movies (Dolby Digital, DTS). I listen to many different types of music from classic rock, jazz, classical, a little bit of hip-hop, techno and electronica, usually louder but not ear-splitting, but quieter at night (I can't wake my roommates while watching movies late at night). The room is small, carpeted, but not tuned very efficiently (yet), and the setup is semi symmetrical, there is a door on the side of the room that the system resides that has to have right of way. I prefer detailed, fairly accurate sound, and bass isn't a big concern as I have an independent subwoofer. I am open to new or used, as long as they are used in good condition, and stands are not a must, but would be preferred.
Sounds like a job for the Revel M12's , I think a used pair would be within your budget . There not hard to set up either , and don't require a bunch of room tunes .
