i used to own a decent integrated amp with equalizer and home made speakers about a decade ago. finally wanted to put some money aside for a decent sized living room for stereo speakers and amp.
My favorite music revolves around some of the following Pink Floyd, Roger Waters also enjoy the likes of One Republic, Coldplay, Keane, Hozier, Foster the people, broods, vampire weekend, etc... my music tastes vary (hopefully didn't offend anyone putting Pink Floyd in the same sentence as the rest). Have a slightly low budget, planing to stay under $1000 USD, although may easily go over. i live in the states, which has an ever growing popularity with plastic theater 99.1 setups, but all am really looking for is a set of decent amp and wood speakers that can have good resonance for voice and instruments with a bit of bass. sounds broad but ....
Anyone can recommend
- integrated amp with built-in equilizer
- or integrated amp and separate equalizer. do most people get equalizers separately or skip equalizers for digital equalizer delivery from their iphone, etc.?
- tube amp, they run more expensive, are there any in the $500 and under range?
- wooden speakers
