Just gonna chuck it out there and see what responses I get, I'm looking for some recommendations in order to replace my B&W P5 Floorstanders which I have become dissatisfied with and want to replace.

To give you an idea on my musical preferences, I literally listen to anything, acoustic, jazz, rock, hip hop, classical.

The room I listen in is medium sized and my neighbours are pretty accommodating so I can play quite loud, but would like something that can cope with low volumes too.

My current hi-fi kit consists of

- Pioneer A300r Precision amp- second stage mod by Tom Evans

- Arcam R Dac

- Marantz CD67SE

-B&W P5 Floorstanders

Any help in replacing the P5's for something a little more involving, current speakers are a bit too bass heavy, contrary to what most reviews say and not open enough sounding for my liking.

I even purchased a Technics SHGE70 graphic equalizer (I know, I know)to see if I could work around the problem and address myself but to no avail.

Got a budget of around £1k or $1,500 and looking at anything used or new, but preferably a really good old pair of audiophile gems.
