After seeing JA's post about the skinny summer issues right before my July copy arrived, I figured that maybe the politics would end up on the cutting floor. But there it is, opening up the feature review, another blast from the far left. On top of that, the review itself falls a bit short.

OK, so the kw DM25 combo sounds great. But the review is weak on comparisons with other players, with just one reference to the Naim at <2/3 the price. The obvious comparison wuld have been to the Ayre C5xe. What I really would like to know is how the best SACD's sound on the Ayre, compared to the best 16 bit discs on the MF. This doesn't necessaily mean both layers of the same disc, either. Also, I'd like to know how the MF stacks up to the Ayre CX7e, at just under half the price. In all fairness to Art, most reviewers seem to shy away to HTH comparisons between 16 bt and hi-rez players. As a consumer, I would want to know this kind of information before making a major commitment to a big buck player of either type.
