Looking for an amp and floor standing speakers to pair with an old reel to reel player ( Akai GX 1820D ). This would be a second set-up ( already have a current set-up I am happy with ) for very occasional listening so looking at a small budget of say $1,000-$1,500 for amp and speakers.
I was thinking maybe the Wharfedale Diamond 10.7 that Music Direct has on sale at $699 a pair and an amp around the same price.
Open to suggestions. I listen to all kinds of music except rap.
