Hi
I'm in the process of upgrading to entry level high end.
I have appleTV running into a DAC, connected to a tube power amp.
Neither have manual volume control, nor does the appleTV remote, and I do not have access to the iPhone remote control app.
As I understand it, a preamp connected between the DAC and power amp will give me volume control.
But, I also want to connect my turntable, must I specifically use a phono preamp, or, at the budget end of the spectrum, will any quality preamp do a reasonable job? Thereby killing two birds with one stone; manual volume for all music, and, vinyl capability.
Or, if I just install a phono preamp, when I'm listening to iTunes, will the phono preamp diminish the signal from the DAC, meaning I need two preamps, and switch between one for digital and one for vinyl?
Any help appreciated!
Thanks
