My NAD 1600 has served me very well for longer than I can remember (20+ years?), but has lately been having a lot of hiccups - one channel cuts out or odd hum through the speakers. Unplugging seems to reset and correct things for a while, but I'm getting tired and a little embarrassed with these gremlins.
Is there a place to send it where qualified people could do a proper inspection/repair, and any idea how much $ that would run (In my neck of the woods Best Buy is considered high fidelity)? Or would it be better and more cost effective to replace it? Would like to spend less than $1000 or so if I went for a new preamp, and have been thinking about the Parasound P5, Vincent SA-31, or another NAD (other suggestions?).
I only play CD's, and the power is an NAD 2400 feeding Dynaudio X12's.
Thanks for the help!
