I've really enjoyed AlexO's post that has dwelt on pro audio gear etc.

I seem to fit well into the old-audiophile camp -- my serious listening tends to be acoustic music recorded live. (Having a bit of run on Dufay masses at the moment, plus a side helping of Glenn Gould).

However, it does seem that there is a potential world of recorded music that has subtlety to be explored with a fine system that is not based on acoustic music.

I enjoy pop music, but it does seem the current techniques discussed here -- multitracking with musicians who have never met, compression etc. -- tend to yield less nuanced product.

On my son's recommendation, I've listened to Autechre, which has some interest as a non-acoustic product.

Anyone out there have a direction to explore non-acoustic audiohpile music?
Is there any such thing?
