I am really new to this kind of thing and up to this point have used  random stereo equipment that has been given to me.  I was thinking about buying a pair of used Bose, but after posting on this forum, decided against it, and now am thinking about buying the Polk Audio RTi A1 bookshelf speakers, to hold me over.

As of now I have a Sony STR-D36OZ receiver, and the only thing I run through it is my turntable.  Once I get a job that pays more that minimum wage I plan on upgrading my receiver and TT, but for now that is what I am stuck with.

My question is will my receiver be adequate enough for these speakers?  Will I risk blowing the receiver, or will I not be able to get the full potential out of the speakers?

Again, I am very new at this, so I am not really sure at all.  The specs for the receiver can be found here on page 16

I am not sure what is important in looking at this when dealing with speakers, or I would include more info in this post.

Any help will be much appreciated.
