I am looking for a new set of bookshelf speakers under $300. After lurking here and some other forums, I have come up with the following candidates than seem to be highly recommended:

AV123 Onix X-LS

Wharfedale Diamond 9.1

Wharfedale Diamond 8.2 (not yet available?)

Paradigm Titan

I would greatly appreciate any experience any of you have with these that could help me decide. To give you an idea of how they will be used, they will be a replacement for my excellent old Genesis Physics V-6s since one of the tweeters died and a replacement set would cost nearly $150 and take 6 weeks. I have these running off of another piece of (imho) very good vintage gear, a Technics SA-505 receiver. I use this system 50/50 for music and movies, and am looking for something with comparable performance to my old V-6s (great imaging; surprising frequency range for size) that is still pretty cheap. At this point I would not be adding a sub, but that is a possibility down the road. Any input would be a great help. Thanks in advance!
