I recently purchased a used phonograph. I am currently using Alesis M1 Active monitors to listen to music. I have a small Behringer mixer that is quietly sending balanced audio to the monitors. The amplification is all performed inside the monitors (active).
I need a preamp!
My question is: should I add to the chain and utilize the mixer along with a phono preamp, OR should I replace the mixer all together, and use another device to
a) amplify and correct EQ of phonograph and
b) accept an RCA line in from my DAW?
That's my setup! any suggestions would be most appreciated.
