Hello -
I have a very modest and a little bit dated system. I am having a problem with my DENON AVR-5700 receiver and Yamaha DVD-2500 universal player. I have the player hooked up to the receiver using RCA jacks.
One day the player quit defaulting to multi-channel and went to stereo output. I went in and changed it to multi-channel. The amp would not play the multi-channel signal. Just a muffled left and right front output (2 of the 5 channels.)
I first thought the player was the problem because it changd the default from multi- to stereo. I had an old DVD player that I hooked up using the same RCA jacks and I was able to get surround sound again. The old player didn't have SACD or DVD-A capablities.
I figured the problem was the player and bought a new OPPO universal player. I hooked it up and the problem was still there.
The receiver will put out sound to all the speakers. I still have all my channels it just won't process the signals from SACD/ DVD-A.
Any ideas that don't involve shipping the receiver?
Thank you
John
