I'll be emigrating to the US in a couple of months and will be looking to purchase my first reasonably expensive setup. Both my dad and my brother have Cyrus equipment (built here in the UK) which I'm very impressed by. I have an initial budget of around $10,000, but would be wanting to have room for upgrading. My current idea is:
CD Xt SE -> DAC XP -> X Power
Speaker-wise I've been thinking about the new Mission 796 floorstanders, but I've yet to see any reviews. Upgrade path would be mainly to monoblocs (Mono X units), independent power supplies for CD and Preamp/DAC and then to biamping. Final cost will probably top out around $20,000.
What are peoples opinions? Is Cyrus equipment hard to find in the US? I've emailed the North American distributor but heard nothing back.
