i spent today going to 5 different dealers as i desperately want a great component system (within a 6 grand budget). as a complete novice to the audiophile universe i was wondering what your thoughts might be on my conclusions
i listened to b&w 700 series, martin logans, paradigm 100v4s,and vandersteen 2ces
i found the vandersteens (which were running on a $500 integrated amp (cambridge audio?) honestly sounded great, and possibly the best-especially since i knew that every other place that i went to showcased their speakers through amps that i probably could not afford
the speaker that came in second were the paradigms
i was wondering what the general consensus was about my opinion?
ALSO, i was wondering if i WAS to purchase the vandersteens what kind of power source i should buy, i know that it is almost out of budget range but the mcintosh ma6900 sounded amazing, is it worth the $4600 or are there better deals for such a great sound?
