I spotted a used old Vans Evers Model 85 Reference power conditioner on Audiogon that I'm interested in buying. This piece is pretty old possibly from late 90's. Looks like it's a solid built unit with separate outlets for digital and analog and amplifier components. The seller's asking for $261 for it. The original msrp was $639. My only concern is the age of this conditioner. Do you think an old power conditioner like that will still be functioning as it should. The seller said the unit is functioning properly. Btw, the seller is TMR (The Music Room). They are one of the biggest seller on Audiogon. They said this conditioner has been tested and has been going through thorough listening session and it is in excellent working condition. But what worries me is that whether or not an old power conditioner will still be able to protect my audio gears.
Please anyone let me know. Any advise, opinions, inputs and thoughts would greatly be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
