I only took one bass with me to HE2006, my fretless Carvin. I was apprehensive about the gig, because with a fretless instrument, your ability to play in tune depends critically on being able to hear yourself on stage. Fortunately, it worked out fine, but perhaps I shouldn't have been surprised: Steve, who ran the sound for the concerts, used to be Jaco Pastorius' manager!
