Felice Navidad, y'all.
This week is Ben Webster week at Casa Buddha de la Temoporario Chico California, and it made me wa-wa-wonder...
Who's you absoulte favorite sax player?
For me, it is Gentle Ben, Ben Webster.
Playing the Dig Ben Storyville release each night this week, and digging His Smoothness.
Mrs. Buddha is a staunch Coltraner, bar none. She's played the Coltrane and Monk disc more than I have.
She can tell which "Heavyweight Champ" disc is in the player. (We have the CD set, she likes CD's. She's also an avid Francophile, and can tell a Pichon Longueville Baron from a Pichon Baron Comtesse de Lalande in one sniff. No need to proceed to tasting, even!)
Enough about me and the woman...
Independent of genre, who is your favorite sax player and, perhaps, your favorite disc by that artist?
